Sajda Mughal in Metro – “A terrorist tried to kill me but I do not want the death penalty for extremists”

JAN Trust Director, 7/7 Survivor and Counter-Extremism expert Sajda Mughal OBE has spoken to The Metro about the ISIS ‘The Beatles’, the death penalty, the Prevent strategy and what needs to happen.

Sajda Mughal survived one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in the UK and has dedicated her life to preventing extremism. Even though terrorists tried to take her life on the 7th of July 2005, she writes that we must not betray our own values by calling for extremists to face the death penalty; we should be focusing on preventing and not encouraging radicalisation.
