workshops

We provide a number of regular workshops about issues which would otherwise not be known to women especially black minority ethnic, refugee and asylum women. These workshops are provided on an informal, friendly and one to one basis. Feedback has highlighted that women believe the workshops are of great help.

Workshops we carry out are based on:

  • Health
We regularly carry out workshops on various issues such as blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, thalassemia, hepatitis C and pregnancy.
  • Financial Literacy
This workshop is designed for women who find it difficult in understanding mainstream financial processes. The workshop covers areas such as types of bank accounts, opening a bank account and claiming back unfair charges and loans.
  • Opening a business
The workshop provides information on how to open a small business.
  • Confidence building
A vital workshop whereby women can gain confidence to not only assimilate in society but to gain employment.
  • CV writing
An essential workshop that helps women in building a CV for employment.
  • Interview techniques
This workshop is in conjunction with Confidence building and CV writing.
  • Benefits
This workshop provides advice and guidance to women with benefit issues.

We also offer workshops on domestic violence, honour killings and pregnancy. Please keep an eye on our upcoming events page for details.
