Our work has expanded not only throughout the UK but internationally too.
USA.....
An eight member British Muslim women’s delegation from the UK, visited the United States of America in April 2010 with JAN Trust as part of an exchange programme. The aim was to explore Muslim life in the US; promoting British Muslim lifestyle and highlighting how both countries have progressed since the terror attacks they faced since 2001 and 2005.
Sajda Mughal from JAN Trust developed this project and led the group from JAN Trust. She promotes women’s empowerment and carries out extensive interfaith and cohesion work which stems from her experience as the only known Muslim survivor of 7/7 London bombings.
The group met with different social, educational and civil society personalities to understand the key interests and concerns of Muslims in America and share the experiences of British Muslims.
Furthermore, the delegation met with Herro Mustafa, Senior Advisor on Middle East to the Vice President Joe Bidden.

Sajda Mughal (fourth from left below) from JAN Trust was privileged to meet with the US Ambassador to the UK, Mr Louis Susman. He was intrigued to hear about our delegation to the US and was delighted that we had such a great experience and insight into the country.

Italy....
JAN Trust hosted a youth exchange in London. The exchange included Italian and UK participants ranging from between 15 - 25 years of age. The exchange promoted a better understanding between religions and cultures and explored the many different 'faces' to Europe. It highlighted the diverse European identities and enabled the youth to see what cultural diversity actually means.

India.....
We expanded on our work in India through a delegation from the UK that visited India and comprised of our Project Manager Sajda Mughal.
The delegation visited Bangalore, New Delhi, Bhopal and Mumbai during their stay in India.
Sajda and the group met with different social, educational and civil society personalities to also understand the key interests and concerns of Muslims in India and share the experiences of British Muslims. The delegation met several Muslim communities in India and shared the cultural, educational and social living conditions of Muslim communities in both the countries.
Furthermore, they met with the Minorities Minister of India, Salman Khursheed, National Commission for Minorities Government of India and the British High Commissioner.
