Fundraising Manager

Location: JAN Trust, London. May consider a freelance basis for the right candidate.

Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 pro rata dependent on experience

This is a part time (2 days per week) until 31st March 2018 (may extend dependent on funding and performance).

We are looking to appoint an experienced and ambitious Fundraising Manager. The successful candidate will have a results driven and innovative approach to fundraising and service development.

The main purpose of the job is:
- To secure unrestricted and restricted funding for Core and Service activity.
- To identify service development opportunities.
- To develop internal and external communications.

You will:
- Be expected to have track record of setting and achieving fundraising income targets – see attached job description.
- Have the ability to write compelling bids/business cases and reports.
- Understand statutory and trust fundraising.
- Be an experienced team manager.
- Already be working in a senior fundraising role.
- Be values-driven, target focused and enjoy the challenges and vitality of working within a small dynamic and passionate team.

Marketing and Communications Officer
This is a part time (3 days per week), fixed-term contract role based working at JAN Trust’s head office in North London. 3 month FTC (may extend dependent on funding and performance).
Salary: £20,000 – £23,000 pro rata dependent on experience.
JAN Trust is recruiting for a Marketing and Communications Officer to lead on maximising communications, marketing and media work across its services and programmes. You will deliver high quality communications that influence public opinion and policymaking.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Develop, implement and coordinate communications to external partners and project partners through online activities (including writing articles, press release, newsletter)

• Manage and update websites and social media channels including google ads and twitter ads

• Provide regular internal reports on online engagement: social media, website, newsletters

• Develop and write online blogs and articles

• Support in planning and running events

• Edit and proof-read materials for fundraising and for publishing purposes

• Make videos and visual communication tools, graphic design activities (Power Point presentations, Prezi, infographics)

• Responding to press and actively seeking media coverage including writing press releases; building relationships with key media contacts, maintaining a media log and keep a file of press cuttings

Person Specification
• A solid educational background to degree level 

• At least one year’s full-time experience in media or communications

• Excellent writing skills (in English) - assured copywriting skills

• Genuine interest in women’s empowerment for ethnic minority and Muslim women

• Experience on developing communication and dissemination tools such as presentations, booklets and infographics – proven talent in visual communication is a plus

• Experience of drafting press releases and dealing with the media

• Experience running social media accounts in a professional capacity would be a major advantage

• Familiarity with video-editing suites, reasonable working knowledge of Photoshop would be an advantage

• Experience working with one or more of Wordpress, BSD Tools, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, Final Cut Pro

Projects Assistant Volunteer

Expenses covering travel and lunch (2-3 days per week).

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, honest and committed individual to join our small team in London as a volunteer. The role is for 6 months for 2-3 days. You must have a keen interest and experience in working with the empowerment of ethnic minority and Muslim women and be committed about our ethos and work.

The role will provide exposure and experience with a range of our services, i.e. integration; hate crime and Islamophobia; VAWG and countering extremism.

Responsibilities include:

- Relationship building with key organisations.
- Visiting schools, colleges, community organisations and Masjids on issues such as hate crime, extremism and VAWG.
- Researching sensitive issues such as VAWG.
- Organising and attending events.
- Fundraising assistance.
- Social media.
- Marketing.
- Press Liaison.
- International Development

Research and Policy Volunteer

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, honest and committed individual to join our small team in London as a volunteer. The role is for 6 months for 2-3 days. You must have a keen interest and experience in working with the empowerment of ethnic minority and Muslim women and be committed about our ethos and work.

You will be responsible for research on issues that affect women from the BAMER and Muslim community in the UK. You will also be writing reports on these issues to a high standard. Additionally, researching, shaping policy, lobbying as well as assisting applications and funding proposals. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills. Experience of BAMER and women’s empowerment will be beneficial.
